Theoretical distillation tray efficiency can be as high as 150% for most common systems. However, the design and achieved tray efficiency for most systems is only about 80% to 100% due to non-uniform flow of liquid and vapor on the tray. Based on our fundamental understanding and extensive experimental research, our Super Tray can eliminate hydraulic gradient, avoid stagnant region, and realize uniform plug flow of the two-phase flow across the entire tray. Our Super tray efficiency almost approaches the theoretical limit of plug flow tray efficiency, often more than 130%. Our technology can increase the tray efficiency by an average of 50% for sieve trays and fixed valve trays and by about 25% for movable valve trays and bubble cap trays.
